Lu Yu, Director of Huawei's intelligent computing systems department in Russia, told about Huawei's developments designed to speed up the process of digitalization and intellectualization in the global industry, as well as the most successful practices of using these technologies. According to the expert's forecasts, by 2025 there will be more than 40 billion smart devices in the world, and 90% of users will have digital assistants. Such progress will be possible thanks to the development of AI solutions that are already being used in various fields: from consumer electronics manufacturing to data center equipment and deployment of urban security systems.

One of such developments is the Ascend programmable neuroprocessors (NPU), the world's first processors based on artificial intelligence technology. Today more than 500 projects have been made using Huawei's AI processors in more than 10 areas, including telecommunications, energy, and transportation.

"Our nearest plans are to use Huawei products to create an AI ecosystems that can make the foundation for a complete digital transformation of the Russian economy," Lu Yu said.

To solve this problem, Huawei is actively working in several areas at once.

"The company actively invests in basic AI research, strengthens cooperation with Russian high-tech companies based on the Huawei OpenLab innovation laboratory in Moscow, supports communities that offer high-quality online courses to AI developers, and strengthens its existing product portfolio. We hope to attract to this project more than 100 000 AI developers, more than 100 partners – independent software vendors – and more than 20 universities. If everything is successful, the AI ecosystem based on Huawei solutions will be deployed by 2025," said Lu Yu.
